I fear Daniel Webster had it right

My Last Post before the real fights begin.

"I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe...Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing."

- Daniel Webster, June 1, 1837

Only one day left before the recounts start.

This may well be the last day we know for sure who the President is, so in that spirit let's all take a deep breath and hope/pray for the best.

There is a very real possibility that our next President may be Richard (The Dick) Cheney, here is how that can happen.

Bush/Kerry tie in the Electorial College, so the House, which is controlled by the Repub wing of the Republicrat party, get to choose the Vice President, Cheney being their likely pick. Since there is no winner for Prez, Cheney is sworn in as President in January.

But even more of a possibility we will be bombarded with the recount stories for a couple of months, because neither side will admit defeat gracefully.

I am going to vote first thing tomorrow morning, then I am going to slip into the woods of northern Michigan for a few days of relaxation, so by the time I am back to, so-called, civilization, the battle should be raging full-tilt.

Take Care and Good Luck All.
